Our Story

While volunteering to help organize monthly campouts for his son's local scout troop, David Wood inherited a traditional process of using spreadsheets, emails, and phone calls to plan monthly campouts for 250 people. Besides requiring significant volunteer hours each month, the process was inherently inefficient and error prone. Using his design experience at Microsoft, he began envisioning a generalized software solution that could unify all the core elements for planning an event.

A number of years later, and after carefully researching the market, David founded Eventene and launched their first product in 2018, a SaaS offering focused on aiding youth group directors in planning field trips, campouts, and other excursions. Among a competitive field, Eventene stood out early by featuring modern design, cloud and mobile infrastructure, easy event customization, and cost-effective pricing.

As its customer base widened over several years, Eventene continued innovating to meet additional needs of professional event planners and larger events, such as company offsites, symposiums, and multi-day conferences. New features such as payment processing, ticketing, order management, contact management, event websites, guest registration, check-ins by name or QR code, and agenda / speaker / sponsor management helped establish Eventene in the upper end of the event management market.

Today, Eventene offers a comprehensive, modern, powerful, yet affordable event management system for event organizers worldwide. Its ability to adapt to a wide variety of events and integrate with a customer's existing systems and workflows makes it an excellent choice to replace traditional spreadsheets and email or switching from expensive legacy systems.
